A member of one of Ireland's most respected singing families, Dolores Keane is the possessor of some of the sweetest tones in Celtic music. The first vocalist for Irish band De Danann, Keane has also sung with The Chieftains and Planxty. On this album her strong west of Ireland music roots are combined with John Faulkner's English/Scottish folk music influences to produce a fresh approach to traditional songs and tunes. The use of varied instruments – hurdy gurdy, concertina, flute and whistles on gentle love songs such as "The Month Of January" and the menacing anti-war song "Will Ye Go To Flanders" is tasteful and well controlled.
