Plácido Domingo is truly one of a kind. He is a tireless artistic champion who never stands still. As well as being a singer he is an artistic director and a conductor, he has been involved in much humanitarian work and he founded Operalia, a competition to find new opera stars. He has had an immensely successful operatic career not only as a tenor, but in later years as a baritone. His recordings of popular and Latin songs have allowed him to reach even larger and equally adoring audiences.

Domingo has not only dominated the opera world, singing 146 roles in major opera houses around the world, but has firmly crossed into the mainstream cultural consciousness appearing on The Simpsons, Sesame Street, Seinfeld and of course as one of The Three Tenors to an audience of billions.
