Vintage Paris Jazz Parisian vintage atmosphere. Paris has always attracted jazz musicians from all over the world to its clubs and cafes. Paris is particularly the spiritual home of Gypsy jazz, and many of the Parisian jazz musicians who performed in the first half of the 20th century began their careers in the city's bals-musette. Django Reinhardt made a name for himself in Paris in the 1930s and 1940s with violinist Stéphane Grappelli and his Quintette du Hot Club de France as well as the bands of Alex Renard, Alix Combelle, Ray Ventura, Claude Bolling and Jerry Mango.
